Welcome to the website of the Central Virginia Division of the American Fencing League.  We are an organization of fencers who enjoy competition fenced without the use of electronic scoring equipment - typically known as dry fencing, also known as standard fencing or as steam fencing.

The Central Virginia Division promotes fencing and conducts its programs in an approximately 50 mile radius of the city of Richmond, including Henrico, Hanover, and Chesterfield Counties, and the cities and towns of Ashland, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg, and Richmond.  We welcome fencers from anywhere in Virginia as members, but our focus is local to ensure that we can provide well run competitions.

Our MISSION: To provide competition for fencers in the Central Virginia area who enjoy dry fencing.

Our VISION

  • To be an organization that meets our members' fencing needs and interests.

  • To offer a full schedule of events in a variety of formats suitable for fencers with a wide range of abilities in all weapons.

  • To help our fencers grow as athletes, as officials, and as managers of a community level sports organization.

Our VALUES:  We engage in fencing as a lifetime personal combat sport that encourages fitness and competition in an atmosphere of safety and sportsmanship in which every fencer is valued.
